The Baby Swing

Starla was ten and stuck in a baby swing. How, you might ask?  Well, Starla’s adorable niece and three charming nephews were going to the park with Starla’s two sisters, Bryana and Joslyn. They invited Starla to go. Starla was so excited to play with her niece and nephews. When Bryana came to pick her up she jumped in the car. When they got to the park they met Joslyn and her daughter Evelyn. Starla looked around.  She saw, super long slide, monkey bars that looked like red licorice--Starla’s favourite candy, a plastic rock climb, and some trees to climb on.  Then she saw the navy blue baby swing.
Starla thought to herself, “When was the last time I went on one of those?  I’m going on.” As she got into the baby swing she realized it was much smaller than it looked. Starla tried to get out, but couldn’t. She yelled to her sisters “I’M KINDA STUCK!”
Starla’s sister Bryana tried to pull her out, but couldn’t, and Joslyn was 7 months pregnant. Bry called her husband. He didn’t answer. Jos tried to call her husband. He didn’t answer, either. Joslyn called their parents who were an hour away. They answered and said to call the fire department.
The fire department came immediately, but to the wrong park. They finally came to the right park by this time Starla had had no blood going to her legs for 20 minutes. The strong firemen were trying to pull her out.  While this was happening, one of Starla’s sisters was crying and the other was laughing.
Finally, Starla was out of the baby swing! She had gigantic blue bruises. Starla learned her lesson:
1 Never go in a baby swing at the age of ten.
2 Baby swings are dangerous.

  1. This reminds me of the time I tried on my 1-year-old brother's Halloween costume...I was 15! I didn't get stuck enough to have to call the fire department, but I definetly couldn't take it off without help. Great story!
